I used to hate the way you said my name Like every word was made to start a flame I knew your face, I knew your worst mistakes Or at least I thought I did until I stayed You told me things you never tell the crowd Little pieces of you without the armor on And suddenly you weren’t the boy I knew You were just a person trying to make it through And I don’t know when it changed But something feels different lately I used to roll my eyes at you Now I catch myself waiting For you to look my way For you to smile like that And God, I hate the fact I keep staring at your lips Thinking what they’d feel like If I got a little closer Just enough to lose my mind I don’t know if I like you I don’t know what this is I just know I can’t stop looking At the things I used to miss Your eyes are way too beautiful For someone I swore I’d never want And every little thing you do Is getting harder to ignore Maybe I was wrong about you Maybe you were never who I thought Maybe hate was just the easiest word For something I couldn’t name at all ‘Cause now I know your stupid jokes The stories that you never tell The way you hide when you’re not okay And somehow I want to know you well And I don’t know when it changed But something feels different lately I used to know exactly why I hated you Now I don’t know why you drive me crazy I don’t know if I like you But I think about your lips And I don’t know if I want you But I dream about the kiss I don’t know if it’s your eyes Or the way you look at me But somewhere between the hate You became somebody I want to see So don’t ask me what I’m feeling I don’t think I know it yet I just know the boy I couldn’t stand Is the one I can’t forget
