Another night, I’m staring at the ceiling Trying to understand this empty feeling Everybody asks me if I’m doing alright I say “I’m fine” just to end the night I learned to smile when I’m falling apart Hide every crack in the back of my heart I’m getting good at pretending these days But silence knows all the things I don’t say Maybe I’m tired, maybe I’m lost Maybe growing up just comes with a cost I keep telling myself I’ll be okay But I don’t believe the words that I say I’m fine, I guess Just a little tired of carrying this mess I laugh with everyone, then cry when they leave There’s so much inside that nobody sees I’m fine, I guess That’s the easiest answer when somebody asks If you look in my eyes, you might see the truth I’m still trying to find the person I knew My phone lights up, but I let it go dark Some conversations feel way too hard I miss the days when life felt slow Before I learned how much it hurts to grow There are people I miss and words I regret Memories I wish I could somehow forget I keep moving forward, at least I pretend But some nights I don’t know where I begin If tomorrow comes and I still feel the same I’ll get up again and walk through the rain Maybe healing doesn’t happen overnight Maybe surviving is enough for tonight I’m fine, I guess Still carrying things I haven’t faced yet I laugh with everyone, then break when I’m alone Trying to make this empty room feel like home I’m fine, I guess Maybe one day I won’t have to pretend Until that day, I’ll keep holding on Hoping someday this weight will be gone So if you ask me how I’ve been… I’ll smile again and say, “I’m fine… I guess.”
